Donating to Crossfire

INSTRUCTIONS FOR MAKING A CROSSFIRE DONATION

General Personal Donation:

  • Write a personal check to “LWYSA”, being sure to include “Crossfire Travel/Tournament Expenses” in the memo section.  Include a cover letter with the name of our team “BU11, Crossfire Premier B97 Red – Storkson” politely suggesting this is where you would like the money to go.  You can also request a receipt for tax purposes.

  • Send to the LWYSA office at:

                Lake Washington Youth Soccer Association
12525 Willows Road NE, Suite 100
                Kirkland, WA  98034-8796

  • Email the team treasurer Michele Miller (michele@stevemiller.net) with the amount you have donated.

Lake Washington Youth Soccer Assocation (LWYSA) are a non-profit organization, so all money donated is tax deductible.

Microsoft Matching Gift Donation:

  • Go to the website for the Microsoft giving campaign and enter LWYSA as the recipient (they have an account number of 4704, but I don’t think it is necessary).  It is also important to note “Crossfire Travel/Tournament expenses” as part of the recipient information.

  • You don’t need to have the money directly taken from your paycheck (i.e. you can just enter the amount you have already personally donated to date).

  • Email the team treasurer Michele Miller (michele@stevemiller.net) with the amount you have donated.

Other Company Matching Gift Donation:

  • Check with your employer regarding the process for matching gifts, using the above information for selecting LWYSA as the recipient.

Donation Notes:

Giving rules state you cannot donate directly for the benefit of your own child/relative.  Therefore, LWYSA cannot guarantee that donated funds would go directly to our team (although, Michael has talked to Bernie, who said it has been done in the past).  In short, any donated/matching money would be for the benefit of the Crossfire organization as a whole.  I will do my best to let John Greenwood (the Crossfire accountant) know who donated what from our team, and, hopefully, strongly encourage him to direct funds our way.  When I spoke with him previously, he wasn’t opposed to that, but he didn’t make any promises either.

So, if it is something you can take the time to do (and it doesn’t take that long) or have the financial resources for, please help out.  THANKS!
