Semi-Finalist at Starfire Memorial Tournament

It was an exciting weekend for the Crossfire 95 Redwine team at the 2007 Starfire Memorial Day Tournament. The weekend started with tie of 0-0 against the Dosveedanya B team. Next came an exciting 1-0 win against an always strong competitor, the Eastside White B team. An early goal started the game off favorably for Crossfire who sustained great defense, preventing the opponent from ever scoring. A strong offensive attack and continued stellar defense resulted in a 5-0 win over the Tusk Wildcats and assurance of a semi-final opportunity. The Semi-Final game against the Synergy Morse proved to be challenging and despite a very well played gamed, Crossfire ended the tournament with a 2-0 loss. Overall, the tournament was a success!

SUCCESS IN SNOHOMISH!!!
Crossfire 95 Redwine started the 2007 tournament season incredibly strong at the Snohomish United Invitational Tournament and demonstrated why they will be a great contender this year!
In game number 1 against the Host Team “Snohomish United”, Crossfire Redwine displayed their new advanced skills in back field passing, passing back to the Goalie and efficient crossing up front which resulted in a 5-1 win for Crossfire.
Game 2 was a great example of how strong team work and incredible passing can make a great team look like superstars. Every Crossfire player strongly contributed to defeating the Federal Way C team 9-0.
Game 3 against the Vancouver Fusion was a “nail biter” as they proved to be formable competition. Stellar defense and a goal scored from a fabulous in the air assist in the last few minutes of the game, helped Crossfire secure a 2-1 Victory and advance to the finals.
Redwine’s team showed tremendous effort and skill in the final game against Federal Way Reign’s B team in a match that could have easily gone the other way. Despite a 2-1 loss, Coach Dan was happy with the “great soccer” the girls played and with their 2nd place accomplishment!
Crossfire Redwine gets nice draw for 2008 Challenge Cup

Crossfire 95 Redwine has registered to participate in the 2008 WSYSA Challenge Cup. As a result of the draw that occurred on Saturday December 8, Crossfire will play the Dosveedanya White in their first preliminary round match, Marauders White in their second match, and Snohomish United Chase in their third match.
Crossfire will be away against both Dos White and the Marauders, and will have one home match against Snohomish United.

Depending upon the outcome of preliminary play, the first place team in our division will play at home against the second place team from Division B, while the second place team from our division will play away against the first place team from Division G.

Crossfire Premier 95 Redwine is part of the PDL1-D division that has 6 teams. Crossfire Redwine is currently scheduled for 10 matches ending in late-October, playing each team in their bracket twice. Per the PDL website, "Crossover matches at the end of the season will be announced as soon as positioning within each league is fairly secure."

It was a tougher weekend for Crossfire Redwine including an unfortunate case of food poisoning for Coach Redwine! Fortunately, the "other " Coach Redwine stepped in help out and it was a fun experience for the team. Crossfire started the weekend off with a 0-0 tie against the always competitive Patriots Blue team. NW Nationals came out strong and eventually secured a 2-0 win over Redwine with the goals being scored late in the game. Although the results of the third game were a strong 6-0 win, it was not enough to advance out of bracket this time. Good effort by the girls and thanks to the guest players who joined us!
CROSSFIRE CHALLENGE SEMI-FINALIST

Crossfire Redwine once again had a strong performace in the Silver Bracket at the Crossfire Challenge. Crossfire Redwine advanced out of bracket with ties of 1-1 against both Spokance SC Elite and Three Rivers Carnes and a 3-0 win against Tualatin Hills Platinum. Despite an extremely strong performance agaist Alliance Gold, Crossfire eventually lost in penalty kicks and Alliance went on to win the tournament.
Diadora Cup

It was a great weekend of soccer at the Diadora Cup. The girls held strong against Evergreen A and kept the half time score at 1-0 Evergreen. The 2nd half proved to be more challenging and despite a Crossfire goal the final score was 5-1, Evergreen. Next up was Eugene Metro Magic and what proved to be a very competitive match. Crossfire Redwine played well but the Magic were able to put one in the net and the final score was 1-0, Magic. The tournament ended with great effort against Emerald City White in which Crossfire dominated and won 2-1. Crossfire Redwine makes Semi-Finals at Baker Blast

Despite losing to Eastside FC Red in the Semi-Finals, Crossfire Redwine had an excellent Baker Blast with victories over Northwest Nationals Blue 3-2 and the Surrey Breakers from BC 1-0. Below are highlights from Crossfire Redwine’s semi-final match against EFC Red.
