Big Weekend Puts Crossfire On Top
March 1, 2009

Crossfire GU13 White defeated Evergreen 4-0 on Saturday night and then beat Greater Renton 3-0 on Sunday Morning.  The wins put them in a tie for first place with Emerald City.  Emerald City had their first loss last weekend against Crossfire and played to a scoreless draw on Saturday.

Caroline opened the scoring on Saturday and Bella added a second before the end of the first half.  Chloe and Caroline added a couple of goals in the second half for the 4-0 victory.  Maddy scored first on Sunday followed by goals from Caroline and Chloe before halftime.  There was no scoring in the second half.

Next weekend, Crossfire travels south to take on the Columbia Timbers.  The Timbers have a game in hand on Crossfire and are just 3 points behind in the standings after defeating Federal Way 2-1 this weekend.

Crossfire GU13 White Shuts Out First Place Team
February 22, 2009

Crossfire GU13 White overcame a shaky start on Sunday to defeat previously unbeaten Emerald City 2-0.  Emerald City had a couple of early chances before Crossfire started to control the game.  The scoreless tie was broken midway through the second half when Caroline beat the Emerald City netminder.  About 10 minutes later Maddy added an insurance goal.  Emerald City had a late game push, but they were unable to find the back of the net.

The win puts Crossfire into a tie for 3rd place with Columbia Timbers, just 2 points behind Federal Way and 5 behind Emerald City.  Crossfire has a game in hand on both teams ahead of them.  They have a chance to climb up in the standings when they play Evergreen and Greater Renton next weekend.

Crossfire GU13 White Starts The Tournament Season
May 19, 2008

Crossfire GU13 White opened the tournament season at the Skagit River Cup in Burlington, WA.  They started the tournament Saturday morning with a tie against Pacific Premier Red, the eventual tournament champions.

Later on Saturday the girls suffered a tough 4-3 loss to Evergreen after opening up a 3-1 lead midway through the second half.  The loss dropped Crossfire out of contention and helped Evergreen reach the final where they lost to Pacific.

On Sunday, coach Reynolds decided to work on a new formation with the girls.  They adapted quite well and played NW United to a 0-0 draw.  Late in the game they almost scored but the crossbar came to the rescue of the NW United goalie.

Next month, the team is back in Burlington for the Skagit Firecracker.

Spring Training Begins With Some New Faces
March 27, 2008

Spring training starts on Monday with a new coach and a few new players.  Tim Reynolds will coach the Crossfire Premier GU13 White team this year.  Kristina and Haili are on another Crossfire Premier team now.  Instead, we will be joined by Hannah Van Hoff and Jordan Nelson (and possibly more).  Practices start Monday at 4PM at Marymoor Park.  See you there.

I will be updating the web site soon with roster and coaching changes.  I will also be setting up a calendar that can be shared by all of us.

Go Crossfire!
