Nike Challenge was next on our team’s tournament schedule held at 60 acres, Crossfire’s home field.  On home turf, under a clear sunny sky, our girls opened up group play by taking on Sun City Strikers with a 4-0 victory.  The next opponent was Eastside White; our girls continued their strong showing with a 6-0 shutout.  Our girl’s last opponent, in group play, was ASE Synergy.  Although our girls scored another shutout 3-0, Synergy proved to be a tough match.  At the end of group play our G99 girls had clinched a playoff berth, facing the Mustang Soccer Pride from California.  The semi finals were held on a Monday morning and this time our girls fell to the Mustangs 0-1 in a hard fought match.  Though the girls did not go on, they were impressive in scoring 13 goals while only giving up a single goal.
