BIO:
Peter guided Seattle Pacific University to two NCAA Division II Championships in 1983 and 1985 and was named Soccer America "MVP" in 1985. He finished his college career at #3 on the S.P.U. all-time scoring list with 58 goals and 31 assists and was the #1 draft pick of the Tacoma Stars of the original Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL), where he played from 1986-1988.
He played 16 years as a professional soccer player including seasons with the Portland Timbers, the MLS Dallas Burn, and the Seattle Sounders, and was named to All-Star teams 6 times. As a member of the Seattle Sounders, Peter was named A-League Player of the year in 1995. Earlier, Peter was a member of the U.S. Amateur and ’Futsal’ teams (five-a-side indoor soccer) where he was a member of the Atlanta/Kansas City Attack from 1989 to 1994, including the 1993 NPSL Championship team. He also played indoor soccer with the Milwaukee Wave from 1997-2000 winning NPSL Championships in 1998 and 2000.
Peter served as Assistant Coach at Seattle Pacific University from 2000 through 2003 and Assistant Coach of the Seattle Sounders (1988-1989 and 2001).
He has long had an interest in youth soccer development and has been with Northwest Soccer Camps for over 20 years as both a coach and as a director. Peter continues as a head coach for both boys and girls teams.His boys’ U17 team won the prestigious Sun Bowl Championship in 2002. His ‘91 girls team won the GU14 North American Super Y League National Finals in November, 2006. And, the ‘91 girls were crowned GU15 Washington State Champions in the 2007 USYSA Championship Cup. Hattrup also coached his ‘91 boys squad to the crown of BU15 Champion of the 2007 Washington Challenge Cup.
Peter was named Crossfire Premier’s Girls Head Coaching Director in January 2003, and relinquished that position to Dick McCormick in October 2005 when he became the Technical Director for all of Lake Washington Youth Soccer Association programs.
