Tynecastle International FC
Crossfire wants to congratulation, ex Crossfire coach and friend of the program, David Hoggan (aka Hoggy) for his exciting new initiative in youth soccer, Tynecastle International FC (www.tynecastlefc.com), and wish him all the best in this exciting new program.”

Tynecastle International Football Club (TIFC) is a new youth soccer club in Everett, Washington USA. TIFC has the support of Tynecastle FC, founded 1928 in Edinburgh Scotland, and desires to bring the rich history of Tynecastle to the youth of Snohomish County. Working together with its Scottish partner Tynecastle FC desires to promote soccer with the respect and dignity the game deserves. Hoggy will oversee the training and development of the youth programs bringing the experience of a lifetime of playing and coaching, at both the youth and professional levels, into one club; Tynecastle International Football Club.

“We realize that to achieve our vision for the youth soccer in Snohomish County it will require the dedicated work of many volunteers, team managers, coaches and players” shares club president and former Crossfire volunteer, Phil McDonald.. “For all the people who envisioned this club we thank you, and look forward to 2008 as our inaugural year of soccer in Everett, WA.”.

“Hoggy, who was a teammate of mine and later my assistant coach with the Seattle Sounders, was instrumental in helping Crossfire become the club it is today,” commented Crossfire Coaching Director, Bernie James. “He was one of the first marquee coaches that we brought into the program. Hoggy’s innovative training style and enthusiasm helped build a generation of players who have since moved on to the college and professional ranks. He not only won two state championships but he was the first Crossfire coach to come home with a Surf Cup title. The current U18 Academy team which has won many accolades was started by David Hoggan. We wish him all the best in this exciting new program.”

Also included on the Tynecastle coaching staff are former Crossfire players Jeremy Bonner and Bobak Talebi. After Crossfire both went on to play at the collegiate level and are now moving into a new stage in their soccer careers. “We are very excited to see two of our former players giving back to the game,” said James.  Jeremy and Bobak are two of the strongest Crossfire players from their generation. They know how to teach the game.”

“Hoggy is bringing a great resource to the Everett/Snohomish areas,” said Crossfire President, Brian Klein. “When he was with Crossfire I saw first hand how Hoggy can engage young players and help establish a life-long love of the game. It is so important players are taught the game properly and given the correct skill set. Hoggy is just the right guy to do that. He is going to do a great job for the families involved with this program.”

Tynecastle will be fielding teams in the Girls U10-15 age groups and the Boys U13-16 age groups. Tryouts will be on March 3, 4, 5 and 7 at Kasch Park (details on their website). Their teams will be competing in the Puget Sound Developmental League.
