Crossfire Coaches & VSI a Tremendous Help - Since 2007 the Crossfire Academy teams have played the best teams in the nation, travelled across the country and played at fantastic facilities. Players have been scouted by 100’s of college coaches, fulfilled their college dreams and some have reached the US National level.
One week before U-18 Academy starting defender Josh Phillips was to sign his national letter of intent to play soccer at the University of Washington, his scholarship and roster spot were pulled. Josh had been committed to play soccer for UW since April 2009 and had passed up many other collegiate opportunities. Josh was now facing an immense world of unknowns. Crossfire’s U-18 Academy head coach, Bernie James, and other Crossfire coaches immediately started calling college coaches on Josh’s behalf. Gary Whitehouse of Varsity Student Institute, which helps Crossfire athletes find the right colleges, also immediately began calling colleges on Josh’s behalf. Thanks to their quick action and genuine concern, Josh is now once again on track and will be deciding shortly where he wants to begin his career as a collegiate athlete. Crossfire and VSI’ relationships with college coaches and their familiarity with the recruiting process were invaluable.
Thank you Crossfire and VSI for your help.
We are lucky enough to have a son that is a talented soccer player – and many people have said that it really doesn’t matter where Kelyn plays, he will get noticed. That may be true, but the extent of the exposure that our son has received is directly related to his playing for Crossfire and the Crossfire USSDA Academy team. The coaching and supporting staff, right along with us, have encouraged and demanded that he grow as a player, as a student, and as a young man. They have allowed him to fail, allowed him to be creative, and have really allowed him to develop himself into the player he is now. This has been done while making sure he knows what it is he needs to do to be successful at the next levels. We have greatly appreciated the professional approach the club has taken with these boys; it has helped in their ability to travel and keep up grades and truly reinforced how present themselves to the public: airports, hotels, parents, and college coaches in an appropriate manner. Our son’s experience with Crossfire Premier and the Crossfire USSDA Academy is one that has helped shape his future and nurture his dreams. The 3 years he has spent playing for the Academy, is by far the best thing that could have happened to his level of play and has really prepared him for his future both in and out of soccer.
