The U16 Boys Crossfire Premier Team coached by Dan Leeming, recently participated in the Farwest Regional Championships in Albuquerque June 21-27. The team made it to the quarterfinals before losing to Westside Metros out of Oregon. The team also made the trip to Albuquerque knowing one of their biggest supporters would not be there to cheer them on. Teri Yamada, whose son Evan has played on this team since U11 and daughter Tessa plays for the U-14 Girls Crossfire Select Parley team, had just recently lost her very short but fierce battle with cancer.

To honor Teri the entire team, along with Coach Leeming, wore black arm bands during every game. Her son, Evan, was designated as the Honorary Captain for the team during the Championships and friends and family cheered the boys on proudly wearing their pink ribbons. Teri served many years as the Crossfire Manager for this team and she will be missed by everyone in the soccer community.

On Friday July 9th, 4:00pm @ the Clise Mansion in Marymoor Park the Yamada family will be hosting a Celebration of Life Service for Teri Yamada memorial service will be held.  Teri served many years as the Crossfire Manager for this team and she will be missed by everyone in the soccer community.  A Memorial Fund to honor the importance Teri placed on education has been established and it is the family’s hope that the fund is a place where our unified grief, support and concern can be demonstrated while contributing to something so important to Teri.  With that in mind, in lieu of flowers, please join her family and friends in contributing to the Teri Yamada Memorial Fund. c/o The Mail Post, PMB 774, Sammamish, WA   98074  http://bartonfuneral.com/2010/06/22/yamada/
