Crossfire Premier Soccer Club Copryright 2012 02/04/2012 02/04/2012 www.crossfiresoccer.org News from Crossfire Premier Soccer Club Former Crossfire Premier Players get chance at Professional Soccer 01/19/2012 01:36 PM http://www.crossfiresoccer.org/home/591533.html The past seven days have been exciting for a handful of Crossfire Premier Alumni trying to make it in the professional soccer ranks. Five former players were drafted into Major League Soccer and one got the opportunity of a lifetime when he signed to play in the English Premier League. The windfall started when Kelyn Rowe, formerly of the Crossfire Premier United States Soccer Development Academy Program, was drafted #3 overall in the MLS Super Draft by the New England Revolution. Next, former Washington Crossfire PDL player Chris Blais was picked #33 overall to the San Jose Earthquakes. A day later former Crossfire Premier player George John was loaned to West Ham United of the English Premier League from his current club FC Dallas. To end the tremendous week, three more former Crossfire Premier players were selected in the MLS supplemental draft. Jamie Finch of the Washington Crossfire PDL team went #29 by the Columbus Crew. Former Washington Crossfire and Crossfire Premier Youth player Doug Herrick was drafted at #46 by the Portland Timbers.  The final draftee was former Crossfire Premier Youth player Brandon Zimmerman was chosen by the Philadelphia Union at the #70 position.  All of this followed the Portland Timbers signing of thier first homegrown player Brent Richards in January.  Richards played for Crossfire Premier in the Manchester United World Championships in Hong Kong and for a Crossfire Premier Super Y League team.  Congratulations to all of the players and good luck with their new teams.

Crossfire Premier Secures Relationship with Matanuska Soccer Club
 
Kirkland, WA (December 18, 2011) -- Matanuska Soccer Club, arguably Alaska’s most successful youth soccer club, and Crossfire Premier Soccer Club, Washington State’s largest premier level soccer institution for boys and girls under 19 years of age, have announced an exciting new affiliation between the two clubs. The announcement launches a relationship that will offer benefits to both clubs’ players.
The affiliation between Crossfire Premier and Matanuska Soccer Club is to collaborate and leverage the clubs’ strengths to foster players’ developmental and competitive opportunities, improving the overall youth soccer experience for both clubs’ players, coaches and families. Among the main goals of the affiliation are to create opportunities for players that would otherwise not be available to them and to establish more advanced player training programs.

The multi-faceted agreement meets needs vital for the continued development of MSC’s elite players, Chew continued, while also allowing the Alaska club to maintain its unique character and continue to provide benefits to players across all ages and abilities.

CHICAGO -- UCLA midfielder (and Crossfire Premier Alumn) Kelyn Rowe has been added to the U.S. under-23 roster for a training camp ahead of men’s Olympic soccer qualifying.  Thirty players will gather for the camp with new coach Caleb Porter.  The U.S. opens qualifying against Cuba on March 22, then plays Canada two days later and El Salvador on March 26, with all three games at Nashville, Tenn. The top two teams in the group advance to the semifinals of the North and Central American and Caribbean region, and the two semifinal winners qualify for the London Olympics.

Crossfire Premier Soccer enters first US youth soccer club partnership with Inter Milan ( F.C. Internazionale)

   

Redmond, Washington (November 5, 2010) – Crossfire Premier Soccer Club, Washington State’s largest premier level soccer institution for boys and girls under 19 years of age, announced an exciting new and exclusive international club relationship on Thursday, November 11th at the Chihuly Boathouse on North Lake Union. The announcement introduced a partnership unlike any other currently in existence in the region that will offer players and coaches access to- and involvement with - one of the top soccer clubs in the world. Representatives of Crossfire, Nike and F.C. ]]> http://www.crossfiresoccer.org/home/480058.html Crossfire Premier players and coaches travel to Italy 10/28/2011 06:09 PM http://www.crossfiresoccer.org/home/571026.html Crossfire Premier Players Simon LeKressner, Angelo Calfo and Harrison Kurtz have been on a lot of exciting soccer trips over the course of their young careers, but none as big as the trip they are currently preparing for. Simon, Angelo and Harrison will leave on October 23rd for an 8 day trip that they will remember forever. The three will be traveling to Milan, Italy and training with the Inter youth teams as part of the partnership that Crossfire Premier has with Inter.  They will be accompanied by Crossfire Premier Coaches Peter Hattrup, Steve Crum, Richard Reece and Justi Baumgardt. 

Day 1

Today was a long day of travel.  The group left Sea-Tac Airport on Sunday at 1:30pm and arrived in Amsterdam on Monday at 9am with the time change.  After a much shorter flight to Milan, we all arrived at the Residence Siloe which is a 5 minute walk to the Inter Youth Academy training facilities.  The rest of the day was spend resting and getting ready for the players first time on the field on Tuesday.

                 

Day 2

On the morning of day 2 the players stayed at the hotel for study hall (yes they have to study while they are here).  Some of the coaches headed  downtown to see some of the sights, including the Piazza del Duomo.  The coaches were able to visit inside the Duomo Cathedral and the walk around the Duomo shoping district.  In the afternoon the players finally got to do what they came here for, they trained with the Inter Youth Academy.  Harrison Kurtz trained the older team and Angelo Calfo and Simon LeKressner trained with the younger team.  The coaches were able to observe a number of ages groups.  The weather today was heavy rain all day.  However the forecast for the rest of the week is dry.  Despite the wet conditions the afternoon was a success!

Day 3

On the morning of day 3 the Crossfire travel group went to tour the San Siro Stadium downtown where Inter plays their home matches.  Click here to view more information on the Inter website about the stadium.  We used the subway system and had to make a transfer and yet no one got lost.  We are off to training in a few minutes but I thought I would post a couple early pictures.

ok, in the afternoon the players and coaches headed back to the youth academy field complex (more about the complex tomorrow).  The weather was a lot better and all three players performed well.

Day 4 

FYI for those of you that may be follwing our trip, we are having internet connectivity issues.  Uploading pictures has become more dificult.  We will load as many pictures as we can on the trip and then upload a bunch more next week when we are back at home.

Today the we did a little more sight seeing and then the boys went to training.  We stoped by the Sforza castle for a quick tour.  It is quite impressive, we didn’t realize how big it was untill we got to walk around the grounds.

Today at training the boys felt like they were starting to get more comfortable.  They felt better physically and they felt more comfortable with their foriegn suroundings.

Thanks to all that help make camp such a fun experience for the coaches and players!

Crossfire Premier Soccer Fields
60 Acres North
 

60 Acres is located in Redmond, WA is located in east King County (roughly 15 miles due East from Seattle).  The complex is just north and across the river (east) from the Willows Golf Course and south of 124th Ave NE. Some maps refer to this park as Sammamish River Regional Park.  The complex includes sixteen well maintained grass fields for youth soccer, youth camps, adult leagues, ultimate frisbee, and local and regional sports tournaments.

The Burke Gillman Trail (a popular hiking and biking destination) connects the Eastside’s and Seattle’s many popular recreational, dining and lodging facilities.  Parking in located on the west and south sides of the complex.
