Seven Crossfire Academy players took part in an Elite Identification & Training Camp in San Diego, California, as part of Crossfire partner AS Roma’s commitment to identifying and training top American talents from the AS Roma USA Academy group of clubs.
The weeklong training camp took place in San Diego in conjunction with the AS Roma first team’s preparations for their International Champions Cup match versus Tottenham Hotspur. The Crossfire players—Bruno Mendonca, Korede Osundina, Caden Yamada (BU-15 DA), Henri Godbout (BU-14 DA), Yuta Banishky, Colin McKenna and Isaiah Norton (BU-13 DA)—trained daily with top players from across the western United States, while also getting the opportunity to watch the AS Roma first team train and even mix in with some of the professional stars at the team hotel.
AS Roma coaches will return to the club in September to again train Crossfire players and teams, as well as work with the club’s coaches on Roma curriculum and methodology. During this week the coaches will be again identifying top talents from Crossfire, players that are then tracked throughout the year, including at the AS Roma USA Academy Showcase in Florida each December. From there, players can be invited to Elite Identification & Training Camps in the U.S. or even to Rome for a week’s training with AS Roma age-group teams.
