Crossfire Premier’s younger Academy teams got a taste of the top competition in the West last weekend at the U.S Soccer National Training Center in Carson, CA, and each squad more than proved their mettle, posting a combined 4-1-1 record.
Taking part in the Development Academy West Regional Showcase at the StubHub Center, the U-13 Academy group, comprised of players born in 2003 (and one 2004-born player), defeated Marin FC 4-0 and Strikers FC 4-2, dropping only a 1-3 result to Nomads FC. The U-14 Academy, with all players born in 2002, defeated San Juan SC and Arsenal FC 2-0, while also posting a 0-0 draw vs. Real So Cal. More important than just the positive results, however, the players responded well to the higher level of play and took one more step towards full Academy competition, which begins for U-15 players at Crossfire Premier, as the club is a full member of the Development Academy, providing a complete pathway for its players.
Next up for the U-13s is an early-December trip to Bradenton, FL, where they’ll be joined by the Crossfire U-12 DA squad. Both teams are taking part in an exclusive AS Roma USA Academy event, hosted by Roma staff.
