NW Briefs | Redmond girls win national soccer title
By Seattle Times staff
The Crossfire Premier Girls 91 U-14 soccer team from Redmond won the Super Y League national championship this week in Tampa. Coached by Peter Hattrup, Crossfire beat CASL from North Carolina 1-0 in the final on a goal by Maggie Graham. Crossfire defender Annelise Sittauer was selected as tournament MVP.
This is the first national championship for a Crossfire team. Crossfire Premier is affiliated with the Lake Washington Soccer Association.
Editor’s Note: As the Seattle Times writer indicated, this is the FIRST National Championship won by any Crossfire team, girls or boys!
Crossfire Premier has had several Washington State Champions, and a handful of regional Champions, but this is the very first time that a Crossfire team has taken home National honors. WOW!!!
Way to go girls! We are VERY proud of you!!!
