06/19/06:  All three Crossfire teams won their first games in preliminary round play: BU16 Crossfire 89 James beat Colorado Xstreme Impact 1-0.  GU12 Crossfire 93 Schilperoort beat Real Colorado National 2-0, and GU-15 Crossfire 90 Lombard beat Arizona Gilbert Arsenal Premier 4-0.  Great start teams!


06/20/06:  In the second day of the tournament, all three Crossfire teams continued their winning ways!   BU16 Crossfire 89 James beat New Mexico’s RVFC Rebellion 5-1.  GU12 Crossfire 93 Schilperoort beat Hawaii’s Ka’Oi Express 2-0, and GU-15 Crossfire 90 Lombard beat Hawaii’s Leahi 91 Premier team 1-0.  Keep up the great work! 

06/21/06:  The third day of play brought three more wins home for Crossfire teams!  BU16 Crossfire 89 James beat Cal North (Wild Card) River City Clash 3-o.  GU12 Crossfire 93 Schilperoort beat Arizona’s Sereno 94 1-0, and GU-15 Crossfire 90 Lombard beat Nevada’s NFC Tabagators 91 White team 7-0.  Good luck in the Quarterfinals on 6/22! 

06/22/06:  Quarterfinal play today resulted in another three more victories for Crossfire teams at Regionals in Boise!  BU16 Crossfire 89 James beat Arizona’s Gilbert Arsenal 90 Premier team 1-0.  GU12 Crossfire 93 Schilperoort beat Idado’s Boise Capitals Premier team 2-0, while GU-15 Crossfire 90 Lombard beat New Mexico’s Alameda Flash 2-0.  Friday brings a well deserved day of rest for all teams still alive in the tournament.  Good luck to our young men and women in the Semi-Finals on Saturday 6/24! 

06/24/06:  Semifinals resulted in 1 win and 2 losses today for Crossfire teams at Regionals.  BU16 Crossfire 89 James lost 4-3 to Cal North’s Mt. Hamilton Lobitos.  GU12 Crossfire 93 Schilperoort lost to Cal North Mustang Rampage 1-0. 

The good news is that GU-15 Crossfire 90 Lombard beat Cal South’s FC Slammers 2-1 and now advance to the Finals round on Sunday!  


06/25/06:   A great day in the history of the Crossfire Club!  GU15 ’90 P. Lombard’s girls bring home a victory against Cal North’s Pleasanton Rage in the Final round at Regionals, winning by a score of 2-1!  The girls now get to go on the Nationals and seek the national title at the USYSA National Championship round scheduled to take place from July 25-30, 2006 in Des Moines, IA.

Great work Girls, and congratulations to all 3 Crossfire teams for having representated Washington State so well!

Other Washington teams’ Results:

BU14 Eastside FC ’91 Red advanced to the Semifinal round before losing to eventual regionals winner Cal South (6-0).

BU15 Federal Way Storm 90 Green advanced all the way to the Final round, but lost to Cal South (2-0).

BU17 Emerald City FC 88 Green also advanced to the Final round, losing to Cal South’s Arsenal FC (1-0).

BU18 FC United 87 advanced to the Semifinal round, losing to Colorado (2-1).

GU13 Emerald City FC 92 White Won their Final match against Cal North’s Mustang Earthquakes (1-0).  (No advancement to Nationals until U14 level, so this is as far as they can go!  Great job Emerald City!!)

GU16 Spokane Shadow Robbins advanced to the Semifinal round, losing to Cal South (4-2).

GU17 Eastside FC 88 Red advanced to the Seminfinal round before losing to Cal South (3-2).

GU18 FC Royals 87 advanced to the Quarterfinal round, but was knocked out by Cal South (3-2).

Summary: -- Of the 24 teams Washington State sent to Regionals in 2006, 11 teams advanced to Quarterfinals or better.  10 Advanced to Semifinals, and 4 all the way to Finals, with two teams (GU 15 Crossfire ’90 Lombard and GU13 Emerald City FC 92 White winning the Championship at the 2006 Regionals!)

Soccer is alive, well, and clearly thriving in the State of Washington as we held our own and defeated some of the best in the West!  Congrats to all our young men and women soccer players in Washington State!
