Manchester United Premier Cup US Finals
Crossfire Premier U14/U15 team places 3rd out of 20 Boys Teams
 |
In 1993 NIKE formed the NIKE International Premier Cup with a vision of allowing under-14/15 soccer teams in Europe to play other teams of similar skill level and of promoting a greater participation in youth soccer. Over a decade later, the participants of that inaugural tournament have come of age. So too has the now called Manchester United Premier Cup, evolving in its young history from a European tournament into a global event encompassing a canvas as broad as the appeal of the game itself.
Crossfire Team placed 3rd out of 20 Boy’s Teams in last weekend’s Nike Manchester United US Finals, hosted by F.C. Portland Academy. Their only loss came in the semi-final round to the eventual tournament Champion’s, Valley United Blast.
The Crossfire team coached by Bernie James was comprised of boys born in 1992; 12 from the 91 James team and 3 from the 92 Henderson team.
