GU16 Crossfire Stauber & Crum at Spain's Donosti Cup

A combined team of GU16 Crossfire Stauber and Crum will be leaving July 27 and traveling to San Sebastian, Spain to participate in the 2007 Donosti Cup. Coach Todd Stauber and the girls will play teams from all over the world in the beautiful coastal city. The International tournament will include an Olympic-like player’s parade at opening ceremonies, player’s parties and closing/ award ceremonies.

The group will start in Madrid with a professional coaching clinic and friendly game as well as tours of the city and the neighboring village of Toledo.
They will then go to San Sebastian for the Donosti cup games and festivities. After the tournament is concluded, the group will divert to Pamplona to watch the spectacle of the running of the bulls and then travel to Barcelona for a day of touring before the flight home.

San Sebastian (Donostia) is in the Basque country of Northeast Spain, bordering France. It is known for beautiful beaches and fine cuisine. Soccer pitches are carved in the cliffs around the town and finals are in the Anoeta stadium. It is a little different than 60 Acres.
The Donosti Cup is one of the largest youth tournaments in Europe; 256 teams from around the globe will compete this year. Opening ceremonies are July 2, first round league style matches start July 3, and finals are July 6. Our Crossfire team will potentially face teams from Spain, Euskadi (Basque Country), Columbia, Belgium, Germany, and the US.
