Crossfire Premier players selected to ODP Player Pools
2 National, 13 Regional, & 54 State
Two Crossfire Premier GU16 girls have made the ODP National Player Pool, while eight Crossfire Premier boys players and five Crossfire Premier girls players were selected earlier this month to the Region IV Olympic Development Program (ODP) regional team player pools. Congratulations to them all, as well as the 40+ additional Crossfire Premier boys and girls selected to the Washington State ODP teams that participated in ODP training camps in June and July. For the 2 selected to the national pool and the 13 selected to the ODP Region IV player pools, this means that they are not only among the BEST players from Washington state, but part of a select group of players that will represent the 13 western states from Region IV, including Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming. The map below highlights the Region IV portion of the United States.

With this incredible accomplishment, these Crossfire Premier players have the opportunity to take their skills to the next level.
Top premier soccer players from around Washington, including many from Crossfire Premier, were invited to represent their state at the ODP regional camps. The boys camp was held in McMinville, OR and the girls camp in Moscow, ID. Remarkably, over a third of the players selected to the ODP regional pools from Washington came from Crossfire Premier. You can see the entire ODP girls Region IV pool squads here.
The purpose of the ODP camp is to provide higher level training for all pool participants and prepare the regional pool players to better compete as a team at the US Youth Soccer Interregional Tournaments. From this pool will be selected the player rosters for the next Regional travel team events.
The Olympic Development Program was formed to identify a pool of players in each age group from which a National Team will be selected for international competition; to provide high-level training to benefit and enhance the development of players at all levels; and, through the use of carefully selected, licensed coaches, develop a mechanism for the exchange of ideas and curriculum to improve all levels of coaching.
