Porter's Girls Go 0-1 vs. US U15 National Team
at Home Depot Center in Carson, CA

(September 23, 2007) The GU17 Crossfire Premier Porter Lombard team played the US U15 National team in 2007 Women’s Nike Friendlies in the Home Depot Center in Carson, CA.  Women’s National team and Nike name Crossfire Premier’s Girls Program as one of 19 Elite Women’s Programs in the US.

GU14 Schilperoort National Finalist
Super Y-League North American Championships in Tampa

 

(November 20, 2007) Crossfire congratulates the Girls 93 Schilperoort team for reaching the finals in the the Super Y-League North American Championships in Tampa, Florida.  They played a hard fought game only losing in PKs. In five games played, Crossfire had 10 goals while giving up only 1.  Click here for Game Results and Championship Match Highlights. Along with the 93 Schilperoort team, the Boys 92 Henderson and the Girls 92 Schmetzer teams also attended the event.  Go Crossfire!

Schilperoort is Mustang Winter Invitational Champions

(January 14, 2008) In preparation for State Cup, the girls U14 Crossfire ’93 Schilperoort traveled to Danville, CA to compete in the Mustang Winter Turf Invitational.  While they had some ups and downs with two wins and one loss in bracket play, the girls hit their stride in the Final with a 6-0 win against Sacramento United Extreme.  Good job girls - now on to State Cup!

Crossfire Food Drive for Flood Victims

Wash. Flood Victim Relief

(December 10, 2007) Crossfire will be holding a food drive for our local community and the recent Washington flood victims.  Crossfire coaches, parents and players are encouraged to support this effort by donating what they can.  Coordinate your donations at practice or drop them off at Marymoor Park on Wednesday 12/12 or Thursday 12/13 from 4:00-7:00 pm. Tina will be there to load donations into the trailer.  A prize will be given to the coach who brings in the most.

Spencer Richey to join US National Residency Program
Crossfire has fifth player promoted to the US Soccer Residency Program

(December 11, 2007) The Crossfire Premier Academy is excited to announce that BU16 goalkeeper Spencer Richey has accepted an invitation to join the US Soccer Residency Program in Bradenton, Florida. Spencer caught the National Team’s attention with a very strong outing in May at the 2007 Manchester United Premier Cup Finals. Spencer’s departure marks the fifth Crossfire player to be a part of this prestigious program.

Adrian Hanauer will speak at breakfast in Bellevue
Bringing Major League Soccer to Seattle

(December 3, 2007) Adrian Hanauer, owner of the Seattle Sounders, will  speak at the Northwest Entrepreneur Network’s breakfast at the Bellevue Harbor Club on Friday, December 14th.  His talk will include how he has been working to bring the “big leagues” to Seattle by securing a Seattle franchise from Major League Soccer (MLS). Tickets are available online.

Chivas is making its first appearance outside of Southern California this coming Saturday, November 17, at Starfire Soccer Complex (www.starfiresports.com) against Crossfire. Chivas will be facing the USSDA Western Division leading Crossfire Premier U16 and U18 teams. 2 Win Championships in Inaugural Washington Cup
Boys U13 Jenkins & Boys U14 Stauber. Girls U13 P.Lombard are Finalists

(Nov. 12, 2007) – Crossfire took home 2 Championships in the inaugural Washington Cup in Tukwila, Wash., located just south of Seattle. Sanctioned by US Club Soccer, the Washington Cup was hosted by Starfire Sports with matches contested Nov. 9-11 at the Starfire Sports Soccer Complex. Crossfire Premier Ranked #1 Club in Country for 2007
Crossfire Girls Program #2 in Nation, Boys Program #9 in Nation

(October 25, 2007) United Soccer Leagues announced Crossfire Premier as the Number One Club in 2007.  This recognition highlights the league’s top competitive and administrative clubs in the US and Canada.  As a Club, Crossfire Premier was #1.  Our Girl’s Program was ranked #2 and our Boy’s Program was ranked 9th in North America.  This year, no other WA or OR clubs or teams made the Top 22 cut. The final 2007 rankings come out after the SYL North American Finals in Nov 16-20th

Crossfire USSDA kicks off Season with 3-0-1 record
BU16 win 4-1 8-1; BU18 win 3-1, 1-1

(October 6, 2007)   Crossfire Premier, a member of the US Soccer Development Academy, participated in the new US Soccer Development Academy Fall Showcase event in Carson, California. , with a 3-0-1 record. This puts them in the rarified air of US clubs going home without a defeat. The Academy Fall Showcase matches were the inaugural games and represent the start of a nine-month campaign for 122 teams competing in over 1,800 matches.   Watch Studio 90 from US Soccer Video Network

College Planning Workshop - Mark Your Calendars

(October 1, 2007) Crossfire Premier is excited to announce a College Planning Workshop for every Crossfire player, age U14 and up. The workshop will be held on Saturday October 20th and will consist of four one hour sessions each designed specifically for a grade level. Player Photos Needed for Banner Redesign
Help us make your player famous

(October 1, 2007)   Crossfire is looking to spot light your player in a banner on the website.  We are looking to collect over 50 high  resolution closeup photos in the redesign of the page banners.  Email us five or six of your best photos.  Great photos show facial expressions, teh player's eyes and hands, and wearing Crossfire or Nike attire.  Email each original high resolution / pixel density (3-5 MB) photos to Celeste.  One email per photo.

Megson to lead Leicester City Champions League
Crossfire Premier builds relationship with English Club

(September 12, 2007) Crossfire Premier Asst Coaching Director is pleased to announce a new relationship with the Leicester City Football Club.  The English Champions League Foxes are now being lead by Gary Megson, Neil brother.  The eldest Megson has a good track record in guiding clubs to promotion to the English Premier League.

Crossfire and Starfire Announce Partnership
Crossfire's USSDA team to practice & play at Starfire

(August 31, 2007) Crossfire Premier and Starfire Sports have announced a partnership involving Crossfire’s US Soccer Development Academy (USSDA) starting immediately.  As part of the partnership Crossfire Premier’s U16 and U18 USSDA teams will be holding all of their training sessions at the Starfire Complex using Starfire Stadium as the location for  their home games.

Chinook Cup Juniors Results
2 Champions & 1 Semi-finalist,

(August 29th, 2007) Crossfire Premier had 5 teams playing at the Chinook Cup Juniors Tournament August 24th-26th in Tigard, Oregon.  The club had a good outing coming home with 2 Championships, 1 Semi-Finalist, 1 Consolation bracket winner, and 1 quarterfinalist.  Congrats!

Crossfire Premier teams advance to Super Y Nationals in Tampa
Five Teams to participate in USL SoccerFest in November

Crossfire announces US Soccer Development Academy
Tryouts will be held August 26th & 28th at Starfire

(August 21, 2007) Crossfire Premier and Lake Washington Youth Soccer Association (LWYSA) are very proud to formalize and announce its participation as one of 64 clubs across the nation selected to participate in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy (USSDA).Open tryouts will be held on Sunday, August 26th from 6pm to 8pm on field #4 at the Starfire Sports Complex and Tuesday, August 28th from 8pm to 10pm on field #4 at the Starfire Sports Complex. Seattle Crossfire Sounders Season Wrap-Up
End with Third Place Finish

(August 20, 2007) For the third time in as many trips to the W-League final four, the Seattle Crossfire Sounders side won the consolation match to earn a Third Place finish in the league, downing the host Rochester Rhinos in a back-and-forth 2-1 decision Sunday. They previously finished third in 2003 and 2006.

The tournament was held over two weekend with U9-U14 on August 4th-6th and U15-U19 on August 11th-13th. The club had 1 team advance out of the preliminary rounds and reaching the semi-finals. (August 15, 2007) Crossfire is excited to have 55 players recognized as part  of the National, Regional and State level Olympic Development Program. We had 2 make the GU16 National Player Pool, and 8 boys & 5 girls make the Region IV Olympic Development Program (ODP) regional team player pools.  If you get the chance please congratulate these players as well as the 40 additional Crossfire Premier boys and girls selected to the Washington State ODP teams.

US U-17 Coach Hackworth talks about Crossfire Players as Key in Korea
Ellis McLoughlin, Dan Wenzel, Brandon Zimmerman
(August 15, 2008)  Coach John Hackworth’s U.S. U-17 squad flew out to Korea earlier this week not in hope of progressing at the U-17 World Cup, but with expectations. Over the last two years his side has toured the world and competed against the very best teams.  The quality of U.S talent being produced, allied with astute coaching by Hackworth, has led to a competitive evolution for American soccer at the U-17 level.

Three Crossfire Premier Players named to US U-17 World Cup Team
McLoughlin, Wenzel, and Zimmerman head for South Korea

(August 3, 2007) U.S. Under-17 MNT (Men’s National Team) coach John Hackworth has named the 21-player roster from the 40 available players in the US Soccer’s U-17 residency program that will represent the USA at the 2007 FIFA Under-17 World Cup Aug. 18-Sept. 9 in South Korea. Forward Ellis McLoughlin, Midfielder Daniel Wenzel and Defender Brandon Zimmerman.

2 Semi-Finalist and 3 Quarter Finalists

(August 8, 2007) Crossfire Premier sent 10 teams to the first weekend of play at the 27th running of Surf Cup in San Diego the weekend of July 28th-30th and August 4th-6th. Overall Crossfire had an excellent showing with 5 of the 10 teams advancing out of preliminary play with 2 teams reaching the semi-finals.  Congrats to all!

Crossfire wins GU13 National Cup VI Region G
13 Teams Participate - 1 Champion, 3 Finalist & 3 take second

(July 7, 2007) The Crossfire Premier 93 Williams team competed in the 2007 National Cup VI Region G in Boise, ID along with 13 other Crossfire Premier teams this past weekend (6/30-7/3) bringing home the Championship for the GU-13 Super Group.  It was a long hot weekend where Crossfire-Williams advanced out of bracket beating teams from both California & Washington.

Starfire Sports Xtreme Cup Results

(July 3, 2007) Crossfire Premier 96 Stengrund competed in the Starfire Sports X-treme Cup June 29th to July 1st in Tukwila, WA.  They played in the GU11 Gold Flight finishing as a semi-finalist.  They did well in bracket play losing to the eventual tournament winners.  Great job girls!

Crossfire Selected to US Soccer Youth Academy
Formalizes Crossfire's relationship with US National Team
 

(June 27, 2007) With more than a month to go before the deadline to apply to the U.S. Soccer Development Academy, 21 clubs have already been accepted to field boys U-16 and U-18 teams in the program that launches next fall. "The Academy", an extension of the U.S. National Tteam program, was unveiled June 4 and Crossfire Premier is one of the 21 teams pre-accepted into the program.

Baker Blast Results
One U12 Semifinalist

(June 26, 2007) Two Crossfire U12 teams travelled to Bellingham last weekend (June 22-24) for the Baker Blast.  BU12 Team 95 Harnasch came home with one win and two losses in the prelims; GU12 Team 95 Redwine made Semifinalist with two wins and a loss in the prelims, and loses 0-4 in the Semifinals to Eastside FC 95 Red.

Results From USYSA Region IV West Regionals
One Finalist, Two Semi-Finalist, & Two Quarter Finalist

(June 21, 2007) Crossfire is proud of the 7 teams that competed in the USYS Region IV (West).  Advancing to the semis were BU12 94 Jenkins, GU13 93 Schilperoort and GU15 91 Hattrup; GU15 91 Hattrup advanced to the finals on Sunday with a heartbreaking 0-1 loss to the So Cal Blues.  Overall Crossfire’s 7 teams had a great showing with a combined 17-10-3 (w-l-t) record.  Read on for a wrap up of the action.

Crossfire 92 Henderson BU14 Team Finalist BU14 Super Group

(June 21, 2007)    Crossfire Boys Team 92 Henderson traveled to Modesto, CA for the National Cup VI Region H tournament June 16-19.  Overall they put on a good show advancing out of bracket play and reaching the finals where they lost 0-1 to Monarcas FC from Stockton in the BU14 Super Group.   Great Job Team!

Brian Klein appointed to US Soccer Foundation Board

(June 2007) Crossfire’s own President, Brian Klein, was recently one of several people appointed as a Select Director to the U.S. Soccer Foundation at a recent Board Meeting.  The US Soccer Foundation was established in 1995 to manage the surplus funds generated by the 1994 FIFA World Cup held in the United States.

New coach Sean Brazil to take over for leaving Shawn Percell
 

(June 4, 2007) Crossfire welcomes Sean Brazil to its coaching staff effective immediately.  Sean joins Crossfire from Lakewood North Youth Soccer Club where he is a trainer, coach, and Coaching Director.  Sean will be replacing Shawn Percell who recently announced his departure to become an assistant coach for the men’s soccer team at Sonoma State University.

Manchester United Premier Cup US Finals
Crossfire Premier U14/U15 team places 3rd out of 20 Boys Teams

(May 30, 2007)  Crossfire Premier’s Boys team placed 3rd out of 20 teams in the 2007 Nike Manchester United Premier Cup US Finals last weekend (May 24-28). The teams only loss came in the semi-final round to the eventual tournament Champion.

17 Teams Compete; 7 Champions/3 Finalist/2 Semi-Finalist

(May 30, 2007)  Besides the Machester United Premier Cup, Crossfire had 17 other teams competing in 3 tournaments over the Memorial Day weekend; Starfire Spring Memorial, Viking Cup, and Rainier Challenge.  Overall the teams did well with 7 Champions, 3 Finalist, 2 Semi-Finalist.  Congrats to all!

Girls U15 - U19 season play moves to Spring
Change effective immediately

(May 25, 2007) On May 20, 2007, the Washington State Youth Soccer Association (WSYSA)’s Board of Directors unanimously approved to move the girls club soccer season from fall to spring. This change will impact approximately 2,000 players who make up the Girls Under-15 through Under-19 age groups of two key programs, the Washington State Premier League (WSPL) and Washington State Youth Development League (WSYDL). Three Crossfire Players Named Parade All Americans
U18 James Players McLouglin, Zimmerman and Wenzel Receive Recognition

(May 23, 2007) Parade Magazine has named Crossfire James U17 and US U17 National Team players Ellis McLoughlin, Brandon Zimmerman and Danny Wenzel to its 2007 All-America Boys Soccer Team. The Parade All American Team is one of the greatest recognitions youth athletes can receive in the United States.

18 Teams Compete, 4 Champions/3 Finalists/3 Semi-Finalists

Early Spring Success at 2007 Starfire Spring Classic
15 Teams Compete, 4 Champions/2 Finalist/2 Semi-Finalist

(May 4, 2007)  Crossfire Premier kicked off the spring/summer tournament season with 15 Crossfire Premier teams playing in the 2007 Starfire Spring Classic, a boys & girls U11-U15 tournament.  As part of the exciting and fast paced play Crossfire Premier teams reached the finals in 6 matches winning in 4.  Congrats to all.

(May 1, 2007) Crossfire’s own Ellis McLoughlin, of the Crossfire Premier ’89 James team, will be part of the 20-man roster that will represent the U.S. at the CONCACAF (Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football) U-17 Final Round Group B Qualifying Tournament from April 28-May 6 in Kingston, Jamaica.
