Division 1 College Here We Come!
(February 4, 2010) On Wednesday, February 3 2010, Crossfire Premier G91A players signed with their respective schools on National Letter of Intent Day. This was a special day for the team and for Crossfire Premier Soccer Club. EVERY 2010 graduate on the team signed with a Division 1 NCAA school. This is an extremely talented squad that has amassed an incredible 236 wins in 339 games since their 2002 season. Many of these girls have been with this team from the beginning, and as a group since 2002 they have scored 1000 goals while allowing only 225, and have earned 187 shut-outs.

(February 3, 2010) Crossfire Premier would like to congratulate all of the players that have committed to playing collegiate soccer in the fall of 2010. So far there are 51 players in the 2010 Crossfire graduating class that have made their colligent decisions. We expect additional players to select their college of choice in the coming weeks.

Lucretia Lee makes US U20 Squad

(February 19, 2010) UCLA defender Lucretia Lee was named to the U.S. Under-20 Women’s National Team squad for a four-nation tournament in La Manga, Spain later this month.The U.S. will play in the tournament, which features the Under-23 National Teams from Norway, England and Germany, from Feb. 18-27.

Rich joins the club in January after five years at UW as the Men's Goalkeeping Coach. Richard starts this week, so please join us in welcoming Rich!

Crossfire players head to US Youth Soccer ODP Regional Championships
(January 17, 2010) Phoenix, AZ. Over Martin Luther King weekend, more than two dozen Crossfire boys & girls who were selected for the 2010 ODP Washington State Phoenix Rosters will compete in the Championship tournament for Region IV Olympic Development Program teams. Three games followed by Semi-Finals and the Final Championship game will be played against Region IV states including Arizona, California South/North, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, and Hawaii. 3 Crossfire 1996 & 1997 boys invited to US Club Soccer id2 Regional Training Camp
(January 17, 2010) Phoenix, AZ. Miles Sanchez 1997 and 1996 players Sean Bowman and Matt Reinikka traveled to Phoenix, Arizona in mid-December 2009 to attend a 4-day, all-expenses-paid event (minus travel) for id2 sponsored by Nike and US Club Soccer. These Crossfire players were either recommended by coaches, club directors, or scout-identified at US Club Regionals held in Burlington, Washington, last July 4th weekend. Scouting has been done all-year long during regular season club play and players identified/invited to id2 program Regional Training Camps also experience a development component. Three camps in New Jersey, Texas, and Arizona invite the top 200 boys for 4-days of daily training sessions, classroom instruction, question/answer sessions, and matches. Like pros, the players travel in buses and learn about mental preparation and nutrition for top performance. Picked for their talent and technique, players must perform under pressure where the skill level is high, competitive, and the pace is fast but fun. Well done Miles, Sean and Matt.

Open Crossfire Academy (USSDA) Information Night
Come get your questions answered
Crossfire will host an Information Night on February 8th at 7:00pm at the Redmond Town Center Marriott Hotel. This session is intended for any youth soccer player from any club and their parents to attend. This open session will provide an overview of Crossfire’s USSDA program, our focus on College Placement for all youth soccer players, as well as an opportunity to ask questions. Parents of, and those boys born in 1992, 1993, 1994 & 1995 are strongly encouraged to attend if their desire is to play at this level next season.
As part of this, Crossfire is also excited to make the following announcements in regard to next year’s Crossfire Academy USSDA teams.
- The Head Coach for the U18 team (92’s & 93’s) will be Bernie James.
- The Head Coach for the U16 team (94’s & 95’s) will be Ralph Black.
- Tryouts will be held March 12th and 13th for both teams.
2010 Crossfire Spring Youth Academy
Registration Now Open for the Spring Crossfire Youth Academy Session
The 2010 Crossfire Winter Youth Academy begins on Friday, March 19th. The Youth Academy is intended for serious players that would like to challenge themselves. The curriculum is created by the Crossfire Premier Directors of Coaching and will help each player develop the skills necessary to compete on a high level. Crossfire Premier Coaches will lead each training group. The Youth Academy consists of 7 (1.5 hour) sessions on Friday nights, and should supplement the players current team’s training. This is an excellent training opportunity for players intending to participate in the Crossfire Premier or Select tryout process.

OLE One League for Everyone
Donate gently used soccer gear
OLE, One League for Everyone is a new project within LWYSA. Our mission statement is ‘To assist low-income kids to play soccer with LWYSA’. Our current project is collecting gently used cleats, shinguards and shorts to redistribute to low income kids within our association, during the Fall Recreation Season. Gear is offered to players, who qualified for the free/reduced lunch scholarship. Donations can be dropped off at the Lake Washington office, M-Th, 9:00-3:00.

Crossfire's Andrew Glaeser chosen for Disney’s Soccer Showcase All-Star Team
(January 17, 2010) Lake Buena Vista, Fla. Crossfire Goalkeeper Andrew Glaeser, a junior at Walla Walla High School, recently competed in the Disney Soccer Showcase in Orlando, Florida as a guest goalkeeper for the Foothills MVLA Raptors from Northern California. After three days of competition between some of the best youth soccer teams in the United States, Andrew was selected to the 18-man Disney Showcase All Star team and will travel with the team next August to train for two weeks in London, England with the English Premier League’s Chelsea Academy and play several games against top international youth teams from Europe.
Andrew plays for Crossfire Premier’s 92A team coached by Sean Henderson. Before joining Crossfire, Andrew played Club Soccer with the BMSC Earthquakes in Walla Walla for 5 years. Andrew also plays on the Washington State Boys 93 team as part of the Olympic Development Program (ODP). Andrew will travel with the State team to Phoenix, Arizona next week to compete in the Region 4 ODP championships against other State teams from across the western US. Andrew has been the starting goalkeeper for the Walla Walla High School varsity soccer team since his freshman year. For more details and a video of the 18-man squad click here

(November 9, 2009) US Youth Soccer has announced the Boys 1996 & 1995 ODP rosters for the Boy’s ODP Thanksgiving Interregional tournament. The nation’s top soccer talent will converge on Disney’s Wide World of Sports® Complex in Orlando, FL on Nov. 27-30. Sergey Ptachik, Matthew Reinikka, Sean Bowman. Three of the four 1996 players from WA State invited by Region IV. Jose Ocampo one of the three 1995 players from WA State invited by Region IV.

(December 8, 2009) U.S. under-15 boys national team coach Jim Barlow has called in 32 players, all born in 1995, for a domestic training camp from Dec. 12-19 in Bradenton, Fla. Of the 32 players on the roster, five play for the New York Red Bull. The roster was chosen in part from the scouting network at the 2009 Development Academy Winter Showcase. Crossfire G95A helped raise $184,000 and 250,000lbs of food for NW Harvest
(December 5, 2009) Crossfire G’95A players and their families helped raise $184,000 and 250,000 pounds of food, totaling 1,063,308 meals for people in need across Washington at Home Team Harvest. The event, sponsored by KING 5, is the largest food and funds drive of the year for Northwest Harvest. Coached by Jim Thomas and Tim Reynolds, the team brought all their spirit to Redmond Town Center, one of six locations aroung the Puget Sound, including Kitsap Peninsula, to help surpass the goal of providing one million meals for the hungry of Washington State.
"On behalf of our network of partner food programs and all clients we serve, we want to thank you, our generous volunteers, who came out to support the event with your time and enthusiasm this year. We could not have done it without you, and your passion for providing for those who so need our help during these challenging times," said Stephanie Davidson, Volunteer Manager, Northwest Harvest.

On December 11, 2009 the Elite Clubs National League announced the "All-Event Teams" from the games played at the ECNL Divisions at the Final Four Showcase in College Station, TX last weekend. Thirty-two clubs in each age group of the ECNL (U15, U16, and U17) each played 3 games over 3 days against opponents in their division. An "All-Event Team" of 11 players has been selected at each age group based on nominations from ECNL coaches and scouting by the ECNL Player Identification Program.

Crossfire Alumni Taylor Mueller Named to All-West Region team

(January 20, 2010) Defender Taylor Mueller who played for Crossfire Premier under Bernie James for 7 years and now plays for the University of Washington, was recently named to the All West Region Team.
Taylor, a Junior, has earned a number of accolades including Second Team All-Pac-10 honors; named Pac-10 Player of the Week for the first time in his career following UW’s 0-0 draw with Stanford and 1-1 draw with Cal. To read more about Taylor please click here |
