The Role of Parents in Athletics is both a booklet and DVD authored/produced by Bruce Brown, teacher, coach, Athletic Administrator, and Director of Proactive Coaching.
The "Role of Parents in Athletics" clearly and directly discusses what a parent can do to allow growth, help performance and keep proper perspective from the athletes’ point of view. The advice and guidelines featured are based on feedback from asking and listening to players for the past three decades. It explains what the role of all adults should be in the athletic arena and how parents who have children who play sports can show respect for both the game and the individuals who are working with their kids and be an integral part of the positive sports related memories of the kids.
The Booklet and DVD is taken from a chapter of Bruce's book "Teaching Character Through Sport" and is designed to be given or shown to parents before the season begins. For more information on Bruce Brown, Proactive Coaching, or to order the Booklet and/or DVD go to http://www.proactivecoaching.info
