Weekly College Roundup – Week 13

Congratulations to Lauren Rood and Sam Hiatt on winning the College Cup with Stanford. Stanford won its third National Championship in front of 9,591 fans at Avaya Stadium in San Jose on Sunday, taking down UNC 5-4 on penalties after the game ended 0-0. Stanford outshot North Carolina 21-12 with 14 corners and six shots on goal.  In the semi-final, Sam Hiatt grabbed an assist in their comfortable 4-1 victory over UCLA. This weekend, Karli White, Natalie Dierickx and Western Washington are in the D2 National Semifinal after beating Point Loma and Dixie State 1-0 and 3-0, respectively. Dierickx picked up two shut outs, while White featured in both. WWU will now face Flagler College on Thursday in Pittsburgh. Good luck, girls! In year-end honors news, Ethan Bartlow of Washington picked up another award, this time being named to the All Far West Region first team.
