Academy Teams Excel in Florida
Crossfire Development Academy teams posted an impressive string of results over the past two weeks at the Premier Sports Campus in Bradenton, Florida.
First up, the Crossfire U-15/16 and U-17/18 Development Academy squads took part in the 2016 Development Academy Winter Showcase, where they posted a combined 4-1-1 record, moving each team up the season standings.
Following on the heels of the older Academy teams, Crossfire U-12 DA and B03-A arrived in Florida for the AS Roma USA Academy Showcase for U-12 and U-13 Development Academy teams. All ten AS Roma USA clubs had their U-13 DA and two U-12 DA squads in attendance, and each team played four games. Massimo Tarantino, AS Roma Youth Academy Director was in attendance along with two AS Roma youth sector coaches to evaluate players. In addition, Crossfire Academy staff attended a variety of professional development sessions designed to further disseminate AS Roma’s youth-development methodology and training curriculum.
Over the weekend, the Crossfire 03 and 04 boys posted an outstanding 10-1-1 record. The 03s went 4-0, with wins over Vardar, PDA, Chargers and FC Boston by a combined 13-2 goal differential.
All Crossfire Academy teams have returned to Washington to resume their season schedules, while AS Roma staff are gathering their evaluations and planning for 2017’s player identification programs.
