Crossfire Announces Full-Time Performance Academy

Beginning in fall 2017, Crossfire Premier will offer a full-time soccer, athletic performance and academic center as a part of the club’s elite-development programming.

The school will begin with the fall term in September 2017 and run throughout the regular academic year, with students receiving a full slate of accredited academic coursework through Crossfire’s educational partner. While progressing academically, players/students will also focus on their individual athletic development. Players who enter the academy will receive additional technical and functional soccer training each morning, as well as taking part in a complete- and regular long-term athletic development program through Force 10 Performance, which includes physical training as well as sport psychology and nutrition instruction. The Crossfire Performance Academy will operate out of the Force 10 facility near Marymoor Park in Redmond, with students training at the facility, at Marymoor Park, and taking their academic classes in dedicated classrooms within the facility. A professional teacher and academic monitor are on-site at all times, and Crossfire staff coaches and Force 10 trainers provide the soccer training and athletic training respectively.

Delivering a top-notch academic experience is crucial to Crossfire families’ needs, and as such, the club has partnered with K12 International Academy as our academic provider. Utilizing K12 teachers, counselors, enrollment specialists and academic coordinators, we have created a flexible academic model structured for students to academically and physically compete at an elite level. We have created the Crossfire Performance Academy by wrapping our full-time training model around K12online learning curriculum, technology, support and teachers. Together, we combine the best of traditional classroom instruction and online learning to maximize the learning potential of each student.

This K12 proven model is the ultimate “blended school,” uniquely designed to be student-centric and provide an individualized learning experience that allows each student to learn at his or her own level and pace. It blends a complete range of online curriculum, instruction and services from K12 with onsite support from a qualified teacher and academic monitor, as well as Crossfire and Force 10 staff. From course selection through graduation, we feel we have created the optimal learning environment for the unique needs of Crossfire players who aspire to play at an elite level. Through the blended learning environment, students are able to gain a private-school education with the flexibility of learning virtually anywhere, at any time.

K12 International Academy at Crossfire will provide a blended learning environment using the web and a unique classroom environment to provide individual attention and academic support. This uniquely-flexible program adapts to students’ training, competition and travel demands by offering customized weekly schedules and calendars, teacher availability and 24/7 access to courses. Overall, K12 delivers experienced teachers, a robust curriculum and college counseling, so that students can secure spots at top-tier universities. Due to the intensive schedules and extenuating circumstance many of our students face, additional flexibility has been added for our students, who we already know to be focused and driven.

To ensure an exceptional experience for students, with coaches, trainers and academic staff available to each individual as needed, Crossfire has set a limit to enrollment for the first year, and players must first pass through an application process before acceptance into the performance academy. To date, the Crossfire Performance Academy has already accepted more than a dozen players for fall term 2017. These players span the ages from upcoming U-11/12 Development Academy players to U-18/19 DA players already competing at the highest level of youth soccer in North America. Applications for enrollment are now available, with only a few spots remaining. For more information, contact academy@crossfiresoccer.org.
