Crossfire Partners with OSA Seattle FC to Field WPSL Team in 2019!

This summer Crossfire will be offering even more for the club’s top female players, having partnered with OSA Seattle FC to field a team in the WPSL (https://wpslsoccer.sportngin.com), which kicks off this Sunday with a match in Renton.

The Women’s Premiere Soccer League strives to provide the highest level of developmental opportunities for amateur players in the United States. Entering its 23rd season, the WPSL has grown to more than 100 clubs and is the largest women’s soccer league in the world. Team rosters consist of highly skilled players from collegiate, post-collegiate, international and standout prep athletes.

Additionally, the WPSL has clubs in 40 of the 43 largest metropolitan areas in the U.S., with 35 of the 40 states represented, as well as Canadian clubs in Vancouver and Victoria.

This season for OSA XF, the roster is comprised of former Crossfire players who have gone on to play college soccer, several current XF Academy players and three Italian players who are fresh off their professional seasons in Serie A. The team will be coached by Justi Baumgardt, who doubles as a Crossfire Academy staff coach and currently leads the GU-16/17 and GU-18/19 Development Academy squads.

Giuseppe Pezzano, owner of OSA Seattle FC, explained the reasons behind the partnership with XF. “I’ve been working hard to contribute to the growth of soccer in this area,” he said, “and I can finally say that I’ve found a the best partner who has the same vision!”

Pezzano started OSA Seattle FC in 2013 with the goal of helping to develop local players and while also offering international opportunities, particularly in Italy. “Now in 2019, after all these years of experience, experiments and results,” Pezzano continued, “a partnership with one of the top clubs in the United States has come together! Crossfire Premier has the mentality, the vision and an excellent staff; plus, they believe in the Italian methodology as they are already in partnership with a professional Italian club. A big grazie to Bernie James, Troy Letherman and the rest of the club for the warm welcome! I’m very excited about what’s in store for the OSA XF future!”

The team’s summer schedule is posted on the WPSL website, with all the home games below.
