Bartlow Signs Generation Adidas Contract and is Drafted #6 in MLS SuperDraft
Crossfire alum Ethan Bartlow, who helped lead his XF Academy teams to back-to-back DA National Quarterfinals, was drafted #6 overall by the Houston Dynamo in the first round of the MLS SuperDraft on Thursday, January 21. Earlier the same week, Bartlow had signed a Generation Adidas contract, which are awarded to the most outstanding underclassmen in college soccer each year, players who have proven themselves ready for professional soccer. Only five GA contracts were signed in all of NCAA soccer this year.
Bartlow is just the fifth player in Washington youth soccer history to earn a Generation Adidas contract, joining longtime MLS midfielder Kelyn Rowe, the state’s most recent until Bartlow, as the second from Crossfire Premier. Bartlow and Rowe were also the last two players from Washington drafted in the top 10. Additionally, Bartlow is the fourth Crossfire Premier player to be drafted in the past three years.
