XF Alum Katie Duong Called Into U-20 YNT Camp
Crossfire’s Katie Duong, fresh off a stellar freshman campaign at the University of Minnesota, has been called back into the U.S. Under-20 Women’s National Team for a pre-qualifying training camp in Lakewood Ranch, FL, later this month.
Newly-appointed U.S. Under-20 Women’s National Team head coach Laura Harvey has named her first roster, calling 25 players into the camp that runs from Jan. 9-20.
After this camp, Harvey will select the 20-player roster for the 2020 Concacaf Women’s U-20 Championship to be held from Feb. 15-March 1 in the Dominican Republic. The 2020 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup will be held in Panama and Costa Rica this August.
This is the third consecutive call-up for Duong, who was a star midfielder at Crossfire for four seasons before moving on to take over the attacking midfield role at Minnesota, where she earned Big Ten All-Freshman Team honors.
