XF BU-15 DA Heads for European Competition

As if it isn’t enough to play in the most elite competitive environment in boys’ soccer in the United States — the full U.S. Soccer Development Academy — Crossfire’s BU-15 DA squad is now heading off to Europe to take part in the SportChain Cup in Rotterdam, Netherlands (http://rotterdamfootballcup.com/schedule/groups/).

After already playing league games versus L.A. Galaxy, Vancouver Whitecaps, Seattle Sounders, Portland Timbers and San Jose Earthquakes, among others, the team will arrive in Rotterdam for a series of games against some of Europe’s most renowned youth academies. Other tournament entrants include Atletico Madrid, Tottenham Hotspur, TSG Hoffenheim, Red Bull Leipzig, AZ Alkmaar and Club Brugge.

Official games being Saturday, April 20, and continue through Monday, April 22. Crossfire will also play friendlies against Dutch clubs SBV Excelsior and FC Dordrecht on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week, completing an itinerary that’s jammed full of activities—training, sightseeing Rotterdam and Amsterdam, a visit to the SBV Excelsior v. Willem II Eredivisie match and a tour of Johan Cruijff Arena—home to current UEFA Champions League darlings AFC Ajax.
